Emotron Motor Load Monitors

PTG, Inc. markets a line of monitors that directly measure the load on an asynchronous motor by using the motor itself as a torque sensor.

These monitors connect to the motor's cables and measure its load, thus eliminating the need for additional sensors or wiring. When a preset maximum or minimum is reached, the monitor can trigger an alarm or stop the motor.

Motor load monitors can be used to detect high or low motor load situations, and to prevent dangerous load levels. They can prevent the adverse effects of overloading a motor, and can warn operators of machine underloading as well.

Typical applications include manufacturing equipment, spindles, conveyors, pumps, fans, and many other equipment driven by asynchronous motors.
